Camp Latona is a summer camp located on beautiful Gambier Island in British Columbia, Canada.For over fifty years, Camp Latona has been developing the confidence and life skills in our youth to prepare them for their future challenges and successes.  Your leadership skills and experience working with youth make you a valuable addition to our staff.

EDUCATION:

Preference will be given to applicants currently pursuing or recently completed their post secondary education. Fields of study recommended for this position are: education, recreation, physical education, social work, or forestry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be over 19 years of age and have a current and valid NLS certification and paid guarding experience. Experience and/or courses in canoeing and kayaking are assets.

JOB DUTIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of all camp aquatic programs.  Other duties will include: management and maintenance of a large ocean canoe and kayak fleet, working with senior staff to ensure the quality and safety of out tripping programs, staff management and training, ensuring safety and compliance with NLS, Coast Guard, and BC Camping Association standards.

POSITION:

The position commitment is May 1 – August 2016 (dates can vary)

WAGE:

Competitive industry wage plus all transportation to and from camp, meals, and accommodations while at camp.

Successful candidates will require a criminal record search and reference checks.
